Nutter Butter’s TikTok has been posting bizarre, creepy videos since 2024, but its Halloween content has taken things to a whole new level.
What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever seen online? Was it a photo of Slender Man? The Scary Maze game? What about those chain emails and texts recounting the details of a gruesome murder before threatening you with the same fate if you don’t immediately forward it to five people?
The Internet has given us plenty of viral scary content over the years, but I’d argue I haven’t seen anything as creepy as Nutter Butter’s TikTok, which made headlines for freaking people out with its “unhinged” content back in 2024. And with Halloween approaching, it seems like the cookie company’s taking its commitment to creepiness even further with a batch of videos you need to see to believe.
Their latest post–which just so happens to be the one I stumbled upon while scrolling in bed this morning–is what I can only describe as Nutter Butter’s take on the American Horror Story intros; a montage featuring distorted clips of the Nutter Butter Man, brass doorknobs, and disembodied eyes. The clips move in rapid succession before the screen cuts to black and a digitized voice asks, “Can you see me?” A face with a Nutter Butter as a mouth grins, then we see an anthropomorphic peanut at the bottom of a flight of stairs.
Just they day before, they posted a video set to a slowed version of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” of a very tall peanut man slowly rising to his feet.
