The Conjuring is heading into gaming, with The Conjuring: Unspoken arriving on Netflix this October.
Polygon spotted the announcement in Netflix’s monthly newsletter, which describes a cinematic game involving a grieving family and mysterious events at the Red Lion Inn. Players will investigate the haunting and scan for paranormal signals.
Netflix subsequently clarified to Polygon that Unspoken is a cloud-based game playable on TVs, rather than a release limited to Android and iOS devices.
Beyond that, details are scarce. The announcement doesn’t identify a developer or an exact release date, and there’s no gameplay footage to show how those investigations will unfold. Whether Ed and Lorraine Warren appear – or where the story fits into the films’ timeline – also remains unknown.
Meanwhile, the movie franchise continues with The Conjuring: First Communion, which arrives in theaters September 10, 2027.
As Dread Central exclusively reported in July, Garrett Wareing (The Long Walk) and Amanda Fix (Orphan Black: Echoes) play younger versions of Ed and Lorraine Warren in the prequel. Rodrigue Huart directs from a screenplay by Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg. Filming was underway when we broke the casting news.
The franchise currently encompasses nine core films: four Conjuring movies, three Annabelle films, and two Nun installments. That count excludes the loosely connected The Curse of La Llorona, which isn’t officially considered part of the universe. Unspoken will give fans another way to explore its hauntings while awaiting the next theatrical chapter.
