‘Beware Boiúna’ Images Preview One Mean Mother of a Giant Snake Movie

Beware Boiúna hisses into theaters October 2, 2026, via Lionsgate, and a new batch of images offers another look at the survival horror movie ahead of its release.

Director Mike P. Nelson heads deep into the Amazon with Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Kiana Madeira (Fear Street), and Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade) for a nightmare involving one very unwelcome encounter with a colossal snake.

The film follows a medical mission that becomes a fight for survival when Boiúna, an ancient predator, awakens to reclaim her domain. In this jungle, she decides who lives and who dies.

And according to Dread Central’s Matt Konopka, who reviewed the film out of its Fantastic Fest premiere, she doesn’t fuck around.

In his review of Beware Boiúna, Konopka wrote, “Beware Boiúna takes the crown as the meanest, bloodiest, scariest giant snake film to ever slither onto screens.” While he had reservations about the pacing and some of the characters, he praised Nelson’s ability to make the giant snake genuinely frightening.

Nelson’s horror résumé includes Wrong Turn, Silent Night, Deadly Night, and his “No Wake” and “Ambrosia” segments from V/H/S/85.

Beware Boiúna is rated R for “bloody violent content, some grisly images, and language.”
