Kong: Survivor Instinct arrives on Nintendo Switch today, September 30, putting you at ground level in a city being torn apart by Titans.
7Levels announced that the 2.5D action-adventure is available digitally for $24.99/€24.99, with a physical Switch edition also available through Meridiem. You can find the game on Nintendo’s eShop here.
Set shortly after Godzilla vs. Kong, the game follows David, an oil rig worker searching for his daughter, Stacy, after a Titan attack leaves residents trapped in a collapsing city. Getting to her means navigating damaged buildings, fires, and toxic leaks while scavenging for weapons, tools, and supplies.
The game combines platforming and combat with metroidvania-style exploration, with environmental puzzles and threats from both monsters and human enemies. Your best chance of surviving the bigger creatures is the Monarch ORCA Σ, a prototype device that allows you to influence Titan behavior and use their strength to help clear a path.
Kong is joined by other returning and new creatures, including Abaddon, developed by 7Levels in collaboration with Legendary Entertainment.
There’s also a familiar human threat: Alan Jonah, the former eco-terrorist leader from Godzilla: King of the Monsters, returns with a mercenary group called the Hyenas and another scheme.
A Nintendo Switch launch trailer accompanies today’s release. Watch it below.
Kong: Survivor Instinct is also available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
