‘Renew’ – Filming Wraps on Ron Perlman Horror Film; First Image Unveiled
We have our first look at an image from the horror film featuring Ron Perlman, ‘Renew’, which also just wrapped filming.
Well, this is one way for a married couple to renew their vows.
Deadline reports that filming has wrapped on Renew, a new horror film featuring Ron Perlman (pictured above). Along with the announcement, we also have our first look at star Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy).
Described as “a suspense-driven horror film that begins as an intimate love story before descending into visceral horror”, the film “follows a husband and wife who return to the secluded Montana guest ranch where they were married to renew their vows, hoping to leave the past behind and begin again. But when she mysteriously disappears, he is forced to confront the life he fought to escape as he uncovers a hidden evil lurking beneath the ranch’s idyllic façade.”
My bet is that Perlman’s character has something to do with that evil. But will he play a villain, or lean more toward a Jud Crandall from Pet Sematary type of role? I’m hoping for the latter, because he’d crush that.
Rachelle Goulding, Ronnie Gene Blevins, Allison Dunbar, Sam Daly, Danny Rivera, Rebecca Creskoff, Darko Ostojic, Bonnie Gayle Sparks, Barron Boedecker and Chris Wilks also star.
Tommy DeNucci directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rossi.
Diana Hull produced alongside Rossi.
Said DeNucci, “From the very first draft, we wanted audiences to settle into this beautiful Montana escape and genuinely fall in love with Randy and Liz. The more authentic their relationship feels, the more terrifying it becomes when everything begins to unravel. This remarkable cast brought that emotional journey to life in ways that exceeded every expectation.”
