Jack O’Connell (Sinners) is joining Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later) in A Quiet Place Part III, and now we know how their characters are connected: they’re brothers.
Speaking exclusively with Collider at the Newport Beach Film Festival, O’Connell revealed the family connection while discussing his experience making the sequel.
“A Quiet Place was, that felt like family. It’s about family, obviously,” he said. “Got John Krasinski and Emily Blunt involved, and Cillian and I play brothers. There was a real familial feel to that one. It was cool, man. But horror’s popping off. People are turning out for horror. So it’s great. Yeah, it’s amazing.”
Murphy joined the franchise as Emmett in A Quiet Place Part II, helping the Abbott family navigate a world overrun by creatures that hunt by sound. O’Connell’s casting adds another family relationship to explore, although how his character enters the story remains under wraps.
As we previously reported when filming began in May, John Krasinski returns to direct, with Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow), Millicent Simmonds (A Quiet Place), and Noah Jupe (The Black Phone) also back. New additions alongside O’Connell include Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding) and Jason Clarke (Pet Sematary).
Paramount will release A Quiet Place Part III in theaters July 30, 2027.
