I find Rob Zombie’s Halloween offensively bad. But the one thing I do love is his Michael Myers design. Zombie knocked that out of the park.
Outside of Michael’s introduction in the original movie, this might be the most menacing and scary he’s looked in the entire franchise. He’s sort of the Absolute Batman of the Halloween universe. Just an enormous, terrifying presence.
Now Mezco is bringing that version of Michael into its One:12 Collective line with a new figure based on the 2007 film, available to preorder for $116.
The figure comes with three interchangeable head portraits, including his signature mask and the homemade pumpkin mask he created while at Smith’s Grove. Dressed in weathered coveralls and work boots, Michael stands approximately 6.7 inches tall, with more than 28 points of articulation and nine interchangeable hands.
Here’s what’s included:
- Three interchangeable head portraits.
- Nine hands, including relaxed, open, gripping, fists, and a right thumbs-up hand.
- A hunting knife and butcher’s knife.
- A loose mask.
- A jack-o’-lantern.
- A tombstone with a “Myers” inscription.
- A display base with an adjustable posing post.
- Collector-friendly packaging.
That imposing look carried over into Zombie’s incredibly divisive Halloween II, which I frankly consider a near masterpiece of extreme violence and Rob Zombie-style destruction. I’d love a One:12 Collective “Hobo Myers” next. For now, we’re getting the 2007 version, and that pumpkin mask is a pretty cool addition.
