‘Leviathan’: First Look at Toho’s Live-Action Manga Adaptation!

Goodfellas shares with Deadline first images from Toho’s highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Leviathan, a live-action adaptation of Shiro Kuroi’s best-selling manga that’s heading to AFM.

Set in 2127, the film follows a group of students pitted against each other in a brutal battle for survival in the depths of space after a catastrophic accident leaves the spacecraft they are traveling in adrift and low on oxygen, and with only one life support.

The film is directed by Michihito Fujii, who recently took credits on Netflix hit Last Samurai Standing, and Ryohei Shingu. Fujii also takes screenplay credits with Izumi Takahashi.

The cast is led by Shunsuke Michieda (Even If This Love Disappears From The World) and Natsuki Deguchi (Look Back).

Toho will release Leviathan in Japan on February 11, 2027.
