‘Jennifer’s Body 2’: Amanda Seyfried Reportedly Returning Alongside Megan Fox!

Jennifer and Needy could finally be getting back together.

According to Daniel Richtman, Jennifer’s Body 2 is moving forward at 20th Century Studios with Megan Fox (Till Death) and Amanda Seyfried (The Housemaid, You Can See Everything) set to return.

Karyn Kusama (The Invitation) will return direct from a screenplay by Diablo Cody.

Dread Central exclusively reported Fox and Kusama’s return back in July, when Seyfried’s involvement was still uncertain. Her reported return, along with the studio identification, is the big update here, although neither has been officially announced by 20th Century Studios.

The report follows Cody’s recent appearance on Petticoat Revolution, where she described the sequel as happening “imminently” and discussed exploring more of Jennifer’s loneliness and vulnerability. Her script is already finished.

The original follows Jennifer Check, whose encounter with a rock band leaves her possessed and hungry for her male classmates. Her best friend Needy is left trying to stop the bloodshed while navigating a friendship that was already plenty complicated before demonic possession entered the picture.

That relationship was a highlight even in Dread’s mixed original review. Mike Cameron wrote that it was “by far the most compelling thing in the film.” Bringing both actresses back would give the sequel a chance to build on exactly that.

There’s no release date yet, and Richtman’s report doesn’t reveal how Jennifer and Needy’s story would continue.
