Freddie Prinze Jr. to Star in Home Invasion Thriller ‘Killing Time’

Freddie Prinze Jr. (pictured above in I Know What You Did Last Summer) can forget closing time and get ready for Killing Time.

Deadline reports that the actor is set to star in the home invasion thriller. Also starring are Shelley Hennig, Sasha Pieterse, William Moseley, Michael Evans Behling, and Michael Sirow.

Described as a reimagining of the psychological warfare of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the film “follows a couple on the run following a bank robbery and murder spree who seek refuge in the home of an affluent married couple. But as the night unfolds, the fugitives discover that their seemingly well-heeled hosts harbor secrets of their own, setting the stage for a volatile confrontation in which the lines between predator and prey become increasingly blurred.”

Based on that premise, I seriously hope Prinze is part of the sinister married couple. It’s just plain fun to watch a 90s heartthrob like him turn psycho on film. And with that setup, we could see a good dose of that.

Joshua Friedman directed from a script by Ward Anderson and Marc Morgenstern.

Said Friedman, “Freddie, Shelley, Sasha, and William brought everything this film needed — charm, menace, and the ability to turn on a dime. Watching them go at each other across a living room was the whole movie. As for Linda, she believed in this film from the start and fought beside me to get it made — and for that this film will always be sacred to me.”

Producers are Larry Greenberg, Eric Brenner, Raja Collins, Linda Duncombe, German Michael Torres and Joshua Friedman. Executive producers are Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman and Eduard Osipov.

Principal photography recently wrapped.

Quiver Distribution will release Killing Time in North America in 2027. The Exchange will handle international sales at the upcoming AFM.
